Company History

 

Daniel J. Lord & Co., PC, was founded in the fall of 1983 by Daniel J. Lord, CPA.  Within one year the small CPA firm moved out of Dan's home to 203 West Michigan Avenue in Saline, Michigan.  At that time Daniel J. Lord & Co., was one of the only CPA firms in the Saline community.  Due to Dan's expertise in areas such as farm accounting and taxation, small business accounting and taxation, and individual taxation, he established himself as a "go-to" source for the growing Saline business community and residents.  Over the years the firm grew and administrative staff was added to aid Dan in offering exceptional service to the growing number of clients that relied on the firm for their accounting needs.  In December of 2005, Dan's son, Corey Lord, joined the firm as a staff accountant.  In the fall of 2008 Daniel J. Lord & Co., PC, celebrated its 25th anniversary both as a firm and as a tenant at the West Michigan location in Saline.  In June of 2009, big changes occured.  The firm moved to its current location at 131 Keveling Drive in Saline and changed the name to Lord & Associates, PC.  The reasoning for these changes was because the future of the firm is positive and full of growth with Corey Lord taking over for his father over coming years and the need for a even more professional-looking place of business.

 

 

 

 

Dan first started in public accounting in 1968.  From that time until the fall of 1983 he held positions as staff accountant, supervisor, and audit manager for various local, regional, and national CPA firms. 

 

Recently Dan was appointed to the Michigan Board of Accountancy which oversees licensure in public accounting for the state.

Corey is a graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accountancy.  He is currently a candidate for CPA licensure and is working on his master's degree.

 

 

Victoria has had experience in payroll and human resources at Spring Arbor University.
